She was the Los Angeles teenager who became London’s First Lady of Soul after hitting town in 1966 with Ike & Tina Turner and coming to the attention of Mick Jagger. She’s best known for her beautiful and classic mid-to-late ’60s hits including “The First Cut Is The Deepest”, “(If You Think You’re) Groovy” and “Angel of the Morning”, as well as the powerful chorus of the Small Faces’ iconic hit “Tin Soldier”. She became so identifiable with that era that she guested alongside her friend Marianne Faithful in the final episode of the original series of “Absolutely Fabulous”.

Starring the remarkable Tina Arena, the production has just completed a spectacular sold out season at the Sydney Opera House where it was celebrated by audiences and critics alike.

Kimbra Lee Johnson (born 27 March 1990), known mononymously as Kimbra, is a New Zealand singer and actress who mixes pop with classic R&B, jazz and rock musical elements. Her musical influences range from Prince and Minnie Riperton, to Björk and Jeff Buckley. Her debut album, Vows, was released in Australia in 2011. Singles from the album include “Settle Down”, “Cameo Lover” (which won an Australian Recording Industry Association Award), “Good Intent” and “Two Way Street”.
