Q&A Scene: Way of the Eagle

Q&A

Tell us about your new single/ album/ tour?
The first Way Of The Eagle record is coming out soon. Its a real mix of party beats and more introspective songs.

How would you describe your sound in food form and why?
I think its like a Spanish tapas feast. Lots of beautiful little dishes to try.

Which song resonates most strongly and why?
The song on my record that I love the most is one called sweet addiction. Its a really fun song and I think it embodies what Way Of The Eagle is all about.

Any on the road anecdotes?
I travel with a lot of musicians when I tour and a lot of singers as well so it doesn’t take much encouragement for things to get out of hand. But we are all bringing our families to Ballarat so we will be on our best behaviour.

Where do you draw inspiration from?
All things. Love, friends stories.

What’s next for you?
I’m producing records for a bunch of wonderful artists for the next 6 months as well as planning a Way Of The Eagle tour.

What’s your scene?
When I’m not working in the studio or doing shows I’m at home with my partner and our baby so I guess they are my scene.

About Way of the Eagle

way-of-the-eagleHaving topped Triple J’s Most Played Track chart with first single “Rattlesnake,” featuring the dusty pipes of Australian golden boy Dan Sultan, and The Cat Empire’s Harry James Angus, Way Of The Eagle is best described as a creative vision. A banner under which one of the country’s most prolific and revered young producers, Jan Skubiszewski, can do his thing the only way he knows how – turning his street-side studio into a buzzing, beat-pumping drop-in centre for collaborating artists. A way for Skubiszewski to deliver the kind of good-time and affecting musical moments that sound suspiciously like instant radio and festival classics.

See Way of the Eagle at the Ballarat Beer Festival. With thousands expected to descend upon Ballarat township on Saturday 24th January 2015, music lovers and beer enthusiasts are encouraged to book early for the event. Tickets (and drink tokens) available now via Ticketek www.ticketek.com.au or 132 849, or Ticketek outlets now.
