Week two of the Chadstone Friday night Food Truck experience, meant a wide berth from the lacklustre Speedy Gonzales truck and a quest to find tasty street food. Sliders are generally a safe bet, so this led to choosing to dine at Sliders on Tyres, hidden away past the walk way to the car park.
I chose the Truck Combo, which consists of 2 x Sliders plus chips. The friendly assistant at the counter said I could choose two different sliders, much to my delight. The Classic Beef Cheeseburger slider consisted of cheddar, dill pickle, sauce and a juicy meat beef pattie inside a soft brioche bun. Whilst the The Boss slider was a spicy pork sausage, with barbecued capsicum, double cheese, lettuce and aioli inside a brioche bun. Both were heavenly and the chips hit the spot too.
My only criticism would be that the drink on offer from the truck was water, and this was the case at quite a number of the food trucks, which may alliances with certain soft drink companies. Though it was a short walk to find a vendor that sold carbonated drinks.
Sliders on Tyres produce tasty, fresh, good quality sliders and are a recommended choice from the many trucks at the Chadstone Food Truck Park, situated near Coles.
