Recipe Scene: Lamington Brownies

I adapted this recipe from one I found in Super Food Ideas magazine. It’s a really good brownie recipe, topped with a kind of coconut ice type layer that is briefly baked in the oven, then covered in chocolatey topping with a further scattering of coconut. I think you will find yourself quite popular if you make a tray of this.

Chasers in Chapel St South Yarra recently announced the venue will return to hosting international and national live touring acts, stand-up comedy and cabaret under the live brand Three Eight Six.

The venue has undergone an extensive refit to provide Melbourne music fans and Australian concert promoters with an important mid-sized venue as Three Eight Six, that will allow the finest in Australian and international talent to continue to play in this city.

British India were revealed to be the headline act for the night.

Born in Melbourne, Australia, Brodie was raised in a musical family, his father, a professional guitarist and singer taught Brodie the basic chords of guitar and piano and along with his brother Chris, they began making music together, playing as fast and loud as they could to whoever would listen, not letting their lack of experience get in the way of having a good time, and honing their skills of playing live to an audience.

Recipe Scene: Healthyish Weet Bix Slice

I love that buttery, sugary weet bix slice that has piles of fluffy marshmallow on the top that brings back childhood memories. Obviously though it’s not particularly healthy. This version is really nice, and also a bit better for you. So yes, you can have 3 pieces. I drizzled with melted chocolate, but you can leave this off if you want. Because it’s made with coconut oil and not baked the slice gets a bit soft and crumbly if it’s a hot day, so best to store it in the fridge.

Canadian rockers Theory of a Deadman wound-up their first-ever Australian Tour at Melbourne’s Prince Bandroom on Tuesday 26 June 2018. Formed in Delta, British Columbia during 2001, Theory is fronted by Tyler Connolly on lead vocals and guitar, along with Dave Brenner on guitar, Dean Back on bass, and Joey Dandeneau on drums. They have had eight top ten hits on the US Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, including three that went to number one: Bad Girlfriend, Lowlife, plus Rx (Medicate) that is from their sixth and latest studio album Wake Up Call released last October.
