Having spent their formative years storming stages in every corner of Australia, Palace Of The King took their finely-honed live show through Europe in October 2015. Armed with 2 EPs, a full-length vinyl LP and a second full-length studio album already recorded.

Heavy and Hammered was back for its fifth and FINAL year! Once again they handed the unholy reigns over to PBS’s Hard and Heavy shows to summon their favourite bands for an all-day, all-night axe smashing riff fest at The Tote Hotel on Saturday October 5.

Named after the 1971 Alan Arkin-directed film, Rob Griffiths formed Little Murders in 1979 and they soon became the most influential mod band during the late ’70s and early ’80s in Melbourne, Australia.

Girl Germs describe themselves as “Three hot hot hot chiko roles from the cultural deep fryer which is the city of Melbourne. We will leave a questionable taste in your mouth and a catchy tune in your mind.”

Starting with a prodigious output of solo project lo-fi garage rock that echoed the sounds emanating from the dive bars of NYC 20 years ago, Mississippi native John Barret’s Bass Drum of Death are now a live performance and touring juggernaught. Since forming in 2008, and releasing their debut EP Stain Stick Skin on the tastemaking Fat Possum Records; the band’s touring lineup has evolved from Barrett solo playing a bass drum and guitar to the searing, raw live experience they deliver with a drums and two guitar attack these days.

With a stellar career spanning 4 decades Richard Clapton is an Australian music icon, his songs are the soundtrack of our lives. Richard has continually recorded and released numerous records with an unmistakable Australian sound.

Leading the tribute were The Celibate Rifles, the band Damo fronted for 39 years. Rifles members past and present shared the stage with a host of guest singers including Ben Brown (The Hellmenn), Evil Dick (HiTS), the ageless Jeff Duff and mega-fan Jello Biafra; frontman for the Guantanamo School of Medicine and founding member of the Dead Kennedys.

Damien’s friends from cover band world the Centrelink Surfers appeared performing some of the material that Damien loved to sing and the songs that inspired him. Plus testimonials, visuals and even more special guests.

On August 3rd 2019 The Celibate Rifles lost their beloved frontman and friend Damien Lovelock.
