Snap Scene: The Growlers, Pier Bandroom, Melbourne 15th January 2020

Californian ‘beach goth’ band The Growlers performed at the Pier Bandroom in Frankston, Melbourne on Wednesday 15 January 2020 during their Australian Tour celebrating the release of their sixth studio album Natural Affair.

Led by singer Brooks Nielsen with lead guitarist Matt Taylor, and keyboard player/guitarist Kyle Straka, The Growlers have gained a legion of passionate fans around the globe since forming in 2006, amassing 200+ million Spotify streams, 1.5+ million monthly listeners, and 80+ million YouTube streams. They’re a party band that grew into a traveling circus, and spawned their own iconic annual Beach Goth festival that’s grown over the last eight years. The Growlers’ sound traces a line from garage psych ballads to edgy radio pop by combining surf, pop, rock and beat.
