Review Scene

It was a rainy Tuesday night in Sydney for Nick Cave’s second show at the historic State Theatre.

Despite less than ideal conditions with  temperatures up towards 35 degrees Celsius, and the air dry and dusty, this was one of the most enjoyable winery shows I’ve been to in a while.

With more than 160 exhibitors, the 2024 Australian Toy, Hobby & Licensing Fair was a haven for wholesalers and retailers who wanted a one-stop-shop.

The first thing that struck me as I walked into the band room at the Croxton was the abundance of punters between the ages of 18 and 25. As someone who was “around” that age when the album of the occasion tonight “Bricks Are Heavy” was originally released, I expected the nostalgia crew to be front and centre.
