Teddy Swims Melbourne Concert Review 2025: A Night of Soul, Power and Pure Connection

Last night, Teddy Swims brought his I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy Tour to Melbourne — and what a night it was – with a show that was as heartfelt as it was spectactular. Opening with Not Your Man, before launching into Hammer to the Heart, he instantly set the tone for an evening of power, emotion, and connection. Performing at a packed Rod Laver Arena, Teddy’s voice filled the venue with warmth and raw soul. Every note hit deep, and the bond with the audience was immediate.

The Teddy Swims setlist was a perfect blend of heartbreak, groove, and hope. Highlights included crowd favourites Lose Control and All That Really Matters, along with emotional standouts Simple Things and Some Things I’ll Never Know, where the entire arena fell silent and lit up with twinkling lights. His final song — a soaring, heartfelt Lost Control — left fans cheering for more.  Every song was performed with total commitment, backed by an extraordinary live band that elevated each moment.

The band itself ‘Freak Freely’ was phenomenal — tight, soulful, and bursting with energy. From drums to guitar to keys, every musician played with passion and precision. Teddy’s three backing vocalists were equally outstanding, each stepping forward for powerful duets that showcased their individual talent and deep connection with him. Their harmonies were rich and full-bodied, adding emotional layers that turned great songs into unforgettable moments.

Halfway through the show came a spectacular surprise: Tones and I joined Teddy on stage for a surprise duet of their new collaboration Gone, Gone, Gone that sent the crowd into a frenzy. Her powerful, distinctive vocals blended beautifully with Teddy’s soulful tone, creating a goosebump-inducing performance that felt spontaneous yet perfectly in sync. Tones brought her trademark passion and charisma to the stage, dancing, laughing, and connecting with both Teddy and the audience with infectious joy. It was a moment of pure musical chemistry between two Australian favourites — and easily one of the night’s biggest highlights.

The visuals were just as impressive as the music. Explosive pyrotechnics, dazzling lights, and vibrant graphics filled the massive LED screens around the stage, adding cinematic drama to the emotion of the night. Each visual cue felt carefully crafted to amplify the music’s meaning.

But what truly set this concert apart was Teddy’s kindness and generosity. Between songs, he spoke openly about love, self-growth, and gratitude. He signed autographs during the show, even gifting his cap to a fan in the front row. That warmth turned a huge arena performance into something intimate and personal — a celebration of connection and compassion as much as music.

The climactic encore included up-beat favourites of Bed on Fire, Goodbye’s Been Good to You and a pumping The Door. In the end, Teddy Swims’ Melbourne concert was everything live music should be: emotional, powerful, deeply personal, and full of heart. It was a night that reminded everyone why Teddy Swims is one of the most soulful and genuine performers of his generation.
