Vintage Guitar Scene: 1965 Fender Jazz Bass

Fender Jazz Bass 1965 (candy apple red) serial number 118999

Fender Jazz basses from the 60’s are hard to come by here in Australia and I had been looking for one for sometime when I found this great sounding example. I already had a vintage Fender Precision Bass but wanted a “Jazz Bass” sound on some recordings as they sound ‘smoother’ than the precision bass.

It has certainly been played over the years and has a naturally relic’d finish but still has the original frets. It sound and plays well. It can be heard on some tracks from the “Revenge of the Surf Guitar” album such as “Black Jaguar” and also “Cry For A Shadow” from “The Odd One Out“.
