The series starts in 1885 London. It’s dark and eerie and we are met with Hyde causing havoc in the streets. We then skip forward 50 years and we start following the story of Robert Jekyll.
Robert is an orphan who sets out to discover who he is and where he came from. He soon discovers he is the grandson of Dr. Jekyll and that he has inherited some extra traits. Little does he know that he is about to enter a world of human versus monster and he is the latest beast that is being hunted.
Richard E. Grant (Withnail and I) and Enzo Cilenti (Guardians of the Galaxy) head the two organisations that are on Robert’s trail.
Newcomer Tom Bateman portrays his character well, from the desperate orphan trying to find his family to the charmingly arrogant Hyde who demands attention. Bella Charming (Natalie Gumede, Coronation Street) provides the sassy love interest of Hyde and Garson (Donald Sumpter, Game of Thrones) is the valuable sidekick that provides Robert with plenty of answers about his family.
This fantasy drama series ran for one season and consists of 10 episodes.
