Australian rock band Killing Heidi played the Village Green Hotel in the outer Melbourne suburb of Mulgrave on Saturday 21 October 2017, as part of a regional Australian tour celebrating the band’s twentieth anniversary. Fronted by siblings Ella Hooper on lead vocals and Jesse Hooper on guitar, Killing Heidi is rounded out by drummer Adam Pedretti, bassist James Gilligan, and keyboardist Lena Douglas. This tour is a follow-up to their successful reunion tour of capital cities in the middle of the year, giving them a chance to reconnect with fans from Darwin, all the way down the East Coast of Australia, after they split a decade ago.
Killing Heidi was very prominent in the early naughties, when they released 3 studio albums, hit number one on both the albums and singles chart in Australia, went four times platinum status, won four ARIA awards and the critically-acclaimed APRA songwriters of the year award. Ella Hooper has since continued her career as a solo performer, radio presenter and TV personality (Spicks and Specks).
