Tell us about your new single Slot Machine?
Slot Machine is about the pixel-perfect world created by social media and the way it shapes how we think and live. I describe the emptiness and dissatisfaction that comes from constant consumption – never truly making me happy. The song is a cry for deeper meaning in a world shaped by both abstract and literal superficiality. This was the first song I wrote for my second album, and it marked the end of a long writer’s block—so it feels especially rewarding to have written it and now share it with the world as the first chapter of my new album!
What’s your favourite work at this point in time? (your own)
Right now, Slot Machine is a favorite of mine. I’m really proud of how it turned out, and playing it live with my band has taken it to a whole new level—it’s so much fun to feel the energy from the audience during the performance.
How would you describe your sound in food form and why?
Uh that’s my type of question. I’d say my music is like parmigiana, an Italian dish with mozzarella, eggplant, egg, Parmigiano, tomato sauce, different spices and all those delicious layers. Like parmigiana, my music is a mix of different ‘ingredients’—layered, soulful, and comforting. It’s my go-to comfort food, just like music is my comfort zone. Parmigiana takes time and care to make, but every step is worth it, just like the process of creating a song.
Tell us a quick, on the road or studio, anecdote.
While touring in Germany recently, I had a rare day off. My photographer Caitlyn and I spent it in the beautiful city of Erfurt, where we shot some great content for Slot Machine. We explored the city, enjoyed some fantastic food, and later, relaxed with a drink or two. It was the perfect balance of work and relaxation—a rare treat during a tour.
What, or who, inspires you?
Life inspires me—anything that stirs my mind or heart, anything I feel the need to express. It could be a conversation with a friend, something I observe, or a moment in the news that sticks with me… anything, really! And, of course, great music is always a huge source of inspiration, sparking ideas and emotions that fuel my own songs.
Which song do you wish you wrote?
Purple Rain. Need I say more? What a timeless song. Simply wow.
What’s next for you?
My second album. Preparations for the album release tour. The Slot Machine music video… stuff like that
What’s your scene?
My scene is a blend of indie, pop, rock and soul, with a mix of live music lovers who crave that real, authentic sound. My scene is anywhere I can share my music in a way that feels personal and authentic.
