Rainbow girl is about a dream of the perfect girl and an on going appreciation of the beauty of mother earth and the treats she offers.
What’s your favourite work at this point in time? (your own or your group’s work)
Well rainbow girl would be one of our favourite works at the moment, but we have also been jamming on some new material which has felt really good
Tell us a quick, on the road or studio, anecdote.
All our gigs seem to work really well but no matter how prepared we are, we seem to always have obstacles getting to soundcheck and gigs on time.
What, or who, inspires you?
We’re inspired by a lot of classic musical legends, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Bob Marley, Red Hot Chilli Peppers etc. We also take a lot of influence from our surroundings, the physical environment and the people around us. As well as the musicians from our home town such as The Ruiins, Los Scallywaggs and Galleri.
Which song do you wish you wrote?
I don’t think we would wish that we wrote someone elses song, even though it’s always a nice thought especially when you hear something you really like for the first time. One of the reasons we love music is because we can express our journey as an artist through our music. We feel that wishing it was ours would take the beauty away from the place the artist has taken you.
What’s next for you?
So we have our single release on the 20th May at the small ballroom in Newcastle, then on the 26th we have our first gig at the Northern in byron bay supporting Ocean alley which is really exciting for us. Over the next few months or so we’re going to work on some new music, record another album and set on tour.
What’s your scene?
I guess our scene would be somewhere with friendly people that like to have a beer and watch some live music.
