Tell us about your new single/ album/ tour?
We’ve just finished our second album, Bystander and Destroyer, which was recorded at Coloursound by Matt Robins in 2014.
We launched it in March to a packed Cherry Bar and the rest of the year we’ve been riding a wave of non-stop gigging with highlights including supports for The Casanovas album launch at Ding Dong and the Palace of the King album launch at Cherry Bar.
Coming up we’re about to hit a bunch of local gigs including opening for Thirsty Merc at the Northcote Social Club and then hit the road to Sydney and the ACT and More national shows are on the cards for early next year.
How would you describe your sound in food form and why?
It’s gotta be a burger with the lot – There is an unhealthy combination of everything Rock and Roll in there and everyone loves Rock and Roll!
Which song resonates most strongly and why?
I guess we go with what the reviewers have enjoyed the most, which seems to be a tie between Wake Up Call and Ain’t no Time. They’re hard hitting rock tunes with catchy melodies, that’s what we love to play. They’re also the first tracks off our album, I hope they listened to the rest!
Blackened Heart and Fortunate Brave have been hits live, they’re more laid back tunes and we’re happy they’ve gone down well as we’ve been more diverse in our writing for this album.
Any on the road anecdotes?
“We are all friends, lets drink” – Alex – Lead guitar 2014 Yah Yahs…..That pretty much sums up the last couple of years!
Where do you draw inspiration from?
We inspire each other! Each band member brings something different to the band room when we jam, whether it is a new band, old band, local band, something we saw at a gig, movie/TV or even a book we are influenced by everything.
What’s next for you?
Recording a film clip and hitting more gigs (see above). We are writing new tracks, but right now we want everyone to listen to Bystander, we’re really proud of what we’ve laid down and want everyone to hear it on vinyl, it sounds huge and is available on our Bandcamp page.

What’s your scene?
Playing gigs and writing new tunes and hanging out with other great bands. Pretty simple, but Melbourne is a fun place with a great scene, we try to take that with us wherever we go.
About The Vendettas
The Vendettas earlier this year released their 2nd full length album Bystander and Destroyer and have been gigging hard with supports for The Casanovas album launch, Palace of the King album launch as well as their own extensive gig regime. With the warm months approaching they will be opening for Thirsty Merc at the Northcote Social Club continue with headliner shows and take off on a tour or Sydney and ACT with Tassie and Adelaide on the horizon for the new year.
