Q&A Scene: The Rumjacks

Tell us about your new single/ album/ tour?
It’s really the tail end of a year of touring in support of our latest album ‘Sober & Godless’. We toured Australia earlier in the year & have just returned from almost 40 shows across Europe, so it’s a sweet little way to finish up the year playing to home crowds again.

The Rumjacks Nov 2015-smHow would you describe your sound in food form and why?

Bouillabaisse or gumbo.. If you keep fishing around in there you’re bound to find treasure.

Which song resonates most strongly and why?

Blows & Unkind Words seems to strike a chord with people everywhere we play, and its definitely a favourite of ours in the live set.

Have you been touring much? Any on the road anecdotes?

Like I said we are just back from Europe, where we went about introducing ourselves as ‘Man O War’.. It just got way funnier than it probably should have.

Where do you draw inspiration from?

Meeting our friends and supporters, and telling each other our stories & ideas. The madness of everyday life is more than enough to inspire a song or two.

What’s next for you?

A short break to catch our breath & hang with family & friends. Some great shows & festivals around the country early in 2016 before returning to Europe again in May.

What’s your scene?

‘We are Man O War’.. what’s YOUR scene?
