The WSF is the only event of its kind in the world. Sideshow used to only performed in little tents around circuses but now its grown up. Its Theatrical,funny, political, satirical and sexy

People who walk to the beat of their own drum.
People who make their own luck.

People who thru the power of their convictions actually change the world.

Love Man by Otis Reading- if you haven’t heard it go listen to it, then you’ll wish you wrote it too.
What do you love about curating Sideshow events?
Sideshow is the most exciting form of live entertainment I can think of.
I get to see great acts from all over the world and then invite them to be partof the WSF.
I love putting together a program that has got something for everyone.
This year there is shows to suit all tastes, from first timers to hard core sideshow fans.
This year we even have a kids show!
How would you describe World Sideshow Festival in food form and why?
Sideshow is spicy soul food,its good for you and it tastes great and when its finished you just want more.
What’s your scene?
Late night whiskey and women in fur.
I’m sitting in a lush red velvet lounge with gold trimmings and good friends.
Its in a small bar, where some old soul dudes are playing some vaguely familiar funky old soul.
There is some youngsters in the corner showing tricks to each other and some other people starting to dance.

About The World Sideshow Festival
After a hugely successful inaugural event in 2015 the World Sideshow Festival is coming back to Ballarat, bigger and better than before.
Last festival saw huge crowds forming lines down Sturt Street and this year is expected to be even more popular.
“Last festival we featured one international artist, this year we have four” said Festival Director Shep Huntly.
“We have artists from Canada, Holland and Norway join ing the best Australia has to offer. We even have a Ballarat local this year, Emma J Hawkins will be appearing in a show called The Wild Women of Sideshow”
The World Sideshow Festival will be held in the Ballarat Mechanics Institute over 3 fun-filled evenings from 11th – 13th of May
“I am really proud of the program” said Huntly. “This year we have something for everyone. There will be five big shows over three nights including the Opening Night Cabaret which sold out last time, where all the artists pre- sent excerpts of their shows. The Monsters of Shlock from Canada are the world’s best comedy circus sideshow mag- ic duo. There is a celebration of girl power with The Wild Women of Sideshow. The hit of 2015, The League of Side- show Superstars are back with an all new cast. All the way from Norway comes The Headmaster, a true sideshow legend. This show is not for the faint hearted, but hardcore sideshow fans will love it. Proving that there is something for everyone this years’ festival will also feature a show tai- lored especially for kids called The Silly Circus Sideshow.
This is the only event of its type in the world. The festival director sifted thru applications from hundreds of artists wanting be involved.
Set in the beautiful gothic architecture of Ballarat, The World Sideshow Festival will bring audiences a truly unique experience when this world class event lands on their doorstep. The festival will appeal to theatre goers, circus lovers, sideshow fans and new audiences as well.
