Q&A Scene: Redro Redriguez & His Inner Demons

Q & A:

Tell us about your new single/ album/ tour?

Easy Magic, by Redro Redriguez & His Inner Demons was recorded at my home in Rye. We don’t mind it being described as Stoner Rock but it takes the genre in new directions. It’s out now as a digital only release, available at all online music stores. But we use and recommend BandCamp.

How would you describe your sound in food form and why?

Mexican comfort food. It’s hearty, chunky, spicy… and tries to be comforting.

Which song resonates most strongly and why?

Good Times is my favourite. Great groove, sweet chords, lyrics about looking after your mates.

Any on the road anecdotes?

None that I can think of. I’m sure the other guys have a few embarrassing stories about me, but we haven’t toured yet. We do enough miles just getting to rehearsals.

Where do you draw inspiration from?

Politics, relationships, the lives of my friends.

What’s next for you?

Currently writing the next release. Organising a Festival Called Man Up to raise awareness of Men’s roles in domestic violence.

What’s your scene?

I love living in Rye, lots of great food down here, awesome friends, awesome places to skateboard, or hang on the beach. Very inspiring and happy place to live.

Melbourne’s Redro Redriguez & His Inner Demons have released their debut album “Easy Magic”.

Led by Dave “Red” Whip, The band features an all star line up of Melbournes best underground bands. Liam Cuffley (My Left Boot), on drums, Mike Findlay (Dukes of Deliciousness, Powdermonkeys) on Bass and Guitar by sonic alien Toby Brandon. The album features appearances from Tarek Smallman (T-Rek, Low Fly Incline) and Neil Wilkinson (Redcoats).

Recorded at Reds home on the Mornington Peninsula, Easy Magic digs deeply into both Stoner, and Indie Rock idioms and cleverly blends Soul, and Americana into the mix.

Easy Magic is available from All good online purveyors of Digital Music files. Including Bandcamp, iTunes, Amazon, and Spotify.
