Tell us about your new single/ album/ tour?
My current single is Kiss of Life and that’s getting airplay via BBC Introducing in London via BBC Radio London, as well as digital stations globally. It’s taken from the 2016 Remaster of my self titled EP ‘Hannah Clive’. I’m currently doing various appearances at festivals etc, I recently did The Hanwell Hootie, London’s largest one day free music festival, sponsored by Marshall Amplifications and Terry Marshall stopped by to catch my gig which was a lovely surprise.
What’s your favourite work at this point in time?
My favourite work at the moment is ‘Kiss of Life’ because having tried so many times to get it right and record it the way I heard it in my head, its great to see it finally getting the attention from an industry stalwart like the BBC!
Tell us a quick, on the road or studio, anecdote?
Ha ha ha!…I’ve been on tour with some leg-ends – where d’you wanna start! Well I can tell you that if you’re on tour and found yourself buying John Entwistle a drink in the hotel bar where we all stayed, that at best it was unwise to order him another of whatever he was drinking – invariably some impossibly ancient brandy – thus rendering yourself bankrupt of your week’s earnings!
What, or who, inspires you?
My daughter inspires me and the desire to show her that as women we can move on up and forward in a positive way alongside the fellas.
Which song do you wish you wrote?
Oh that’s a toughie. Probably ‘Long Distance Love’ by Little Feet – it has an extraordinary time signature to it or maybe “He’s Misstra Know-It-All’ by Stevie Wonder.
How would you describe your sound in food form and why?
Cake. Because I have an affinity with cake – it comes in all shapes and sizes appropriate for whatever mood you’re in. Particularly the emoji kind – it’s calorie free and I hand out a lot of that via Twitter!
What’s next for you?
Next for me is attaining national airplay for my song ‘Kiss of Life’ so that people are more aware of me and hopefully will come to gigs where we can have an even better time!
What’s your scene?
I guess you’d say my scene is the indie scene, that is to say I actively support quality, fellow artists, usually unsigned. We support one another, I don’t think there’s room for the old band rivalries and I’ve built some solid relationships that way. Us bands gotta stick together…coz it’s tough out there.
