Q&A Scene: GREG GOULD

Tell us about your new single Who Gave You Permission?

It’s a powerful anthem I wrote for my fellow survivors of sexual abuse. Its been the most empowering, emotional release of my career and life so far. The response has been beautiful and also healing.

What’s your favourite work at this point in time?

Ooh I’m probably most proud of my upcoming album for sure. It’s an eclectic mix of sounds and each song is a bit of my past and heart.

How would you describe your sound in food form and why?

Ooh fun question. Maybe like a good fresh colourful salad with all the trimmings. I’m not one thing- some would say I’m A LOT of things haha.. but my new original music has a lot of personal stories and I’ve worked really hard on each and every song

Tell us a quick, on the road or studio, anecdote.

Ooh ummm I once fell off the stage in a theatre and it was quite a drop – mid high note too. The show must go on..  the audience gasped I took a breathe and hit an even higher note just to be cheeky. No broken bones or dignity heheh

What, or who, inspires you?

Ooo brave people, honest people – raw and real artists inspire me.

Which song do you wish you wrote?

Breaking The Law by Emeli Sande – the best!

What’s next for you?

Lots of touring, an album launch in July and getting this album out to the world!  Ooh and I’m doing some international shows with Synthony very soon to be announced!

What’s your scene?

Ooh that could mean many things for me but I’d say good food, good wine, good view, good company.
