Q&A Scene: Cloe Wilder

Tell us about your new single?

I sing “Afterglow” with one of my best friends, NICOLOSI. We wrote it a couple years ago. It immediately became a duet. It’s this story of two people growing apart and accepting that change, which can be the saddest part. I’m just so happy we finally got to sing together

What’s your favourite work at this point in time?

My new EP, I Spent My Summer on the Road, is absolutely my favorite project so far. It’s my own little coming-of-age introduction.

How would you describe your sound in food form and why?
I recently compared my music to a birthday cake mixed with tears. That feels right to me.

Tell us a quick, on the road or studio, anecdote.
Today’s actually my last day of tour! I couldn’t possibly pick a favorite moment, but I will say that I have never laughed harder than I do with these people.

What, or who, inspires you?

When it comes to writing, I’m affected and inspired by almost everyone in my life; any interaction, any experience. Honestly, I just really like people. I’m inspired by Clearwater, I’m inspired by LA, and everything in between.

Which song do you wish you wrote? “Hallucinogenics” by Matt Maeson

What’s next for you?
My new EP will be out on April 19th! Five of my favorite songs I’ve ever made. I’m moving to LA this summer and I’m hoping to be back on the road this fall!

What’s your scene?
My songs, my cat, and my people!
