Tell us about your new single/ album/ tour?
Well we don’t have a single as such as, but we do have a video that we made for a song called ‘Watch and Recall”. Iâd really love for someone to sign us up though, which is also part of this tour – to get some interest happening in us! I write most of our songs along with Mark Spinks (from Gravel Samwidge) and I really believe in them. They are good, solid, catchy songs and I think that anyone who hears us will really be surprised!
What’s your favourite work at this point in time?
Hard to say… Watch and Recall is pretty catchy – people have compared us to Sonic Youth, The Fall, The Go-Betweens, The Breeders and a splash of Birthday Party. Iâm pretty happy with those comparisons.
How would you describe your sound in food form and why?Â
Chilli ice cream… soft and sweet at first, and then you get the surprise bite that you were not expecting!
Tell us a quick, on the road or studio, anecdote.
We are a fairly new band with the upcoming tour, being our first tour. We recently organised and played at the Bek Moore (from Clag and Scrabbled)Â Memorial Gig.
Mitchel Perkins (Per Purpose, Clever, Cured Pink) played guitar with us that night. As I play guitar and bass, Mitchell and I had to swap instruments during the set.
In the chaos of swapping amps, leads, guitars etc, a big tangled mess ensued and poor Mitchell went head over turkey. Well, we thought it was pretty funny!
What, or who, inspires you?
Iâm always inspired by my own life experiences. My song words always tell a story and if you listen hard enough, itâs almost like 2 chevrons is my autobiography.
Musically Iâm inspired by fave bands, but that doesn’t mean that I sound anything like them. I listen to David Bowie, Velvet Underground, Dandy Warhols, Roland S Howard, Anita Lane, Janes Addiction, etc etc… too many amazing artists and writers out there.
Which song do you wish you wrote?
I have to say I wish I had written Heroes by David Bowie. This song moves me to tears just about everytime I listen to it… its hauntingly sad and beautiful. A classic, a masterpiece, and I wish I had written that!
What’s next for you?
Not sure… need to keep writing, get some recording happening, and keep gigging. Of course, recording a debut album upon our return.
What’s your scene?
Cats.. cats and cats… sorry – I adore my fur babies and they do keep me sane in a world of complete insanity.
2 Chevrons started as a conversation piece between Caroline Milne and Mark Spinks from Gravel Samwidge. Mark and Caroline were old friends and after having lost touch with each other for quite a few years, were reunited towards the end of 2014. Things got serious when Caroline played Mark one of her songs. Mark was totally blown away! Caroline being a prolific song writer, was encouraged and excited to have the support of Mark and his amazing guitar playing.
When Mark and Caroline started writing together,  something magical happened, and 2 Chevrons was born. They then got Mitchel Perkins from Per Purpose/Clever/Cured Pink on board and the line up was then completed with the final addition of Jason Bright from Scrabbled/Dragster on guitar.   2 Chevrons started gigging in Brisbane in 2015 and soon found audiences were lapping up their twisted take on underground-pop.
2 Chevrons then produced their own music video to fan-favourtie âWatch and Recallâ. It wasn’t long before comparisons to Sonic Youth and The Fall and other indie greats were made. With this behind them, they are about to embark on their first East Coast National Tour, with Gravel Samwidge, and are looking forward to winning over Sydney and Melbourne audiences.
