Q&A Scene: Ash Lightning

Atomic Riot / DJ Ash Lightning / rock'n'roll organiser lord

Tell us about your latest gig?

The show is called Zipper Down Under, it’s a fund raiser for the victims of the Paris Terrorist Attacks and an opportunity for rock’n’roll fans of Melbourne to ban together and show their support.

This show is a one off but all of the musicians involved have been kicking ass both locally and internationally this year, check them out:

How would you describe your sound in food form and why?

Ass shakin’ rock’n’roll

Which song resonates most strongly and why?

Love You All The Time – it’s the inspiration for the whole show really, the Eagles Of Death Metal called out to musicians around the world to cover their song and I thought “Let’s go one up and cover the whole Zipper Down album”, we are are actually doing a live recording of the song Love You All The Time at the gig which will get a world wide release.

Where do you draw inspiration from?

Peace, Love and Death Metal

What’s next for you?

We all have a huge year planned, for my band Atomic Riot, we’ve just signed a management contract and are looking to our interstate more. For Cassie’s company, Peachy Entertainment, they already have a couple of international tours and trips booked in.  We both DJ and have a huge year planned already and for all the bands involved, there’s SO much radness I can’t even remember.
We hope this gig encourages the rock’n’roll community to be more kind and spread the good word of love and peace to have a kick ass 2016.

What’s your scene?
Rock’n’roll boogie woogie

The event is Saturday 2nd January at Cherry Bar, AC/DC Lane, Melbourne.

100% of proceeds will be donated to the victims of the Paris attacks.
