Scene News: SOULFLY Return with CHAMA – New Album & 2026 Australian Tour Announced

Groove-metal trailblazers SOULFLY are back with their thirteenth studio album, CHAMA — a fierce, tribal, and spiritually charged release that reignites the primal energy at the heart of the Cavalera legacy. From the favelas of Brazil to the Arizona desert, Max Cavalera channels fire and faith into every riff, rhythm, and roar.

Produced by Max’s son Zyon Cavalera, CHAMA is both a family collaboration and a bold new chapter, merging thunderous grooves with modern metal edge. The album celebrates Latin American roots, Indigenous spirit, and the burning vitality of the human soul — its title translating to “Flame”. Guest appearances include Dino Cazares (Fear Factory), Michael Amott (Arch Enemy), and Todd Jones (Nails) among others, adding even more weight to this explosive release.

Max explains, “CHAMA is a revival of our tribal groove metal sound — fast, heavy, spiritual, and raw. We’ve kept the Soulfly heart alive while pushing into new territory. We can’t wait to bring these songs to the stage.”

Recorded at Platinum Underground Studio in Arizona and co-produced by metal visionary Arthur Rizk, CHAMA burns with passion, precision, and purpose — proof that Soulfly’s fire still blazes brighter than ever.

CHAMA is out now via Nuclear Blast Records
