Q&A Scene: Ryan Steadman (Stead) ~ Punk Rock Factory

Tell us about your upcoming Australian tour, what are you looking forward to this time around?

We love to go for late night wanders around the cities to try and combat the jetlag. That’s always fun! There will be plenty of Disney, but with some 90’s tv and 90’s pop thrown in for good measure! Oh, and John Farnham. DO THE WOAHHHSSSSSSSS!! … oh, and drinking vodka from our shoes. Who wouldn’t look forward to that??

What’s your favourite work at this point in time?
We are all agreed that ‘Masters Of The Uniwurst” is our favourite album to date… Theme tunes from the shows of our childhood. We had the best time making it and we LOVE that album!!

Tell us a quick, on the road or studio, anecdote.
When touring America, don’t eat fried catfish when you’re at least 400 miles from the nearest coastline. Damn, that was a rough day on the road.

What, or who, inspires you?
Our fans. Every. Single. Time… It completely blows our minds that we are able to do this for a living. Seeing the world, playing shows in places we never thought we’d visit infront of people we’ve never met! We’re so lucky.

Which song do you wish you wrote?
Anything we’ve ever covered haha! BIG TUNES… oh, and maybe Bohemian Rhapsody? Cha-ching!!

What’s next for you?
We have so much going on between now and the new year! Album release, our first ever original track being released, Australia, Japan, Wembley with Bowling For Soup & Wheatus… Then we go again in February. Back on the road around the UK and more!!

How would you describe your sound in food form and why?
Umm… How about part microwave meal, because it’s fast, and part fillet steak, because it’s fine and beefy?

 What’s your scene?

We grew up with skate punk, grunge, emo and old school metal… Is there 1 scene that is made up of all that?? haha!
