Hosier Lane, adjacent to the famous Forum Theatre, is the unofficial centre for underground street art in Melbourne.
Beginning in 1998 as a Street Art Gallery, the lane has been painted with layer upon layer of street art since. Home to a vast array of professional artworks, casual tags, and political slogans, Hosier Lane continues to be a place of free artistic expression.
However, despite popular belief, Hosier Lane is not exempt from anti-graffiti laws, and artists still run the risk of being fined.
