The Jason Bonham Led Zeppelin Experience (JBLZE) carries the bloodline of legendary drummer John Henry ‘Bonzo’ Bonham, an icon who passed away at just 32 years old. Son Jason was then 14.

Now 51, with a stellar career under his belt, Bonham junior’s critically acclaimed show seems a far cry from the first time he performed. At the tender age of four, Jason was seen deftly twirling drumsticks behind a mini Ludwig drumkit, in a home-movie segment of Led Zeppelin’s benchmark concert film, The Song Remains the Same.

It was always a good gig with Ros in the pit. A beautiful person. She loved music, family, friends and a good Chardonnay.

Quite frankly, What’s My Scene would not exist without Ros. Her mentorship and tireless enthusiasm kept us going.

A great friend. An excellent photographer. We’ll miss you Ros.

Robert Cray has created a sound that rises from American roots and arrives today both fresh and familiar. In just over 40 years Cray and his band have recorded 20 studio releases, 15 of which have been on the Billboard charts, and played bars, concert halls, festivals and arenas around the world.

Sweden’s legendary hard rock band Europe played Melbourne’s Palais Theatre on Saturday 19 May 2018, in the middle of their first-ever Australian Tour. L.A. GUNS was formed in 1982 by guitar player Tracii Guns and, then unknown singer, Axl Rose on lead vocals.

The “classic lineup” of Guns, former Girl singer Phil Lewis, drummer Steve Riley, guitar player Mick Cripps and bassist Kelly Nickels have sold 6.5 million records, including 1988’s L.A. Guns and 1990’s Cocked and Loaded, both of which were certified Gold. Cocked and Loaded contained the hit single “Ballad of Jayne” that went to #33 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and #25 on the Mainstream Rock charts.

After a nearly 15-year break, Philip Lewis and Tracii Guns are back together for another chapter in their partnership that began in 1986, 4 years after Tracii formed L.A. GUNS in 1982.

Here’s our gallery of Phil over the years. We’re going to miss him.

Steel Panther was formed in 2000 and is Michael Starr (lead singer), Satchel (guitarist), Lexxi Foxx (bass) and Stix Zadinia (drums). The fearsome foursome are not stopping anytime soon. “Our drive to bring heavy metal back has not lessened,” concludes Michael Starr. “It’s actually gotten stronger. We’re not going to stop. I look forward to our continued world domination.”

Last in Australia for Soundwave 2015, the band played main stages at the festival and drew massive numbers to their bombastic set, simultaneously offending and salaciously delighting all in attendance. In recent times, they have almost entirely sold out their UK tour, which included Wembley Stadium and played main stage at Download Festival.

Brazilian heavy metal icons Sepultura kicked-off their Australian Tour at 170 Russell in Melbourne on Tuesday 15 May 2018. Sepultura has released fourteen studio albums to date that have sold almost 20 million copies worldwide, garnering them multiple gold and platinum records around the globe, and making them the most successful Brazilian heavy metal band in history. The band’s current lineup consists of vocalist Derrick Green, guitarist Andreas Kisser, bassist Paulo Jr. and drummer Eloy Casagrande. The Melbourne crowd enjoyed another blistering live performance that culminated with a final encore song of their classic song Roots Bloody Roots.
