Queen flew into Melbourne for 2 huge shows after wowing Australia (and the world) with the reproduction of their Live Aid set at the Fire Fight Australia fundraising gig in Sydney. The Rhapsody tour comes off the back of the enormously successful Bohemian Rhapsody biopic.
The crowd was enthusiastic, despite the rain. A small gazebo was set up at the end of the stage to keep Brian, Roger & Adam dry when they ventured down that end.
The scale of the show was immense. There were so many things to look at, it was hard to follow everything at once. The video screens were amazing, ranging from a royal palace to deep space.
A highlight of the night was Brian May’s guitar solo atop an asteroid with planets whizzing past him.

Adam Lambert has really grown into his role as front man of Queen, without stepping all over Freddie’s legacy. Various clips of Freddie Mercury throughout parts of the night really made it feel like he was included in the show.
If you get a chance to see the show – do it. Highly recommended for a great night out, even in the rain.
