Tell us about your new single You Won’t Call?

Written from the pain and confusion of being led on. “You Won’t Call” is our latest gritty blues/soul tune, and the newest addition to our impending EP. This one was born from a 6/8 rhythm that has featured on countless iconic soul tunes over the years. It’s a style that is instantly recognisable, and invites an artist to truly express themselves, particularly through vocals. We had a lot of fun making it, and are having even more fun playing it. Featuring huge vocals, crunchy guitars, driving drums, and an intimate bridge moment, we are super proud to have this one out!

What’s your favourite work at this point in time? (your group’s work)

That’s like picking a favourite child! Right now, “You Won’t Call” is my favourite, but our music is so varied that it strongly depends on how I’m feeling or what’s going on in life. Either way, we love all of our songs (children) evenly!

How would you describe your sound in food form and why?

Like a huge buffet of music! Bit of this, bit of that, all served hot, and ready to eat.

Tell us a quick, on the road or studio, anecdote.

We played an awesome little gig a few years back during Aus Music Week, and none other than Peter Noble (Bluesfest Byron Bay Festival Director) happened to be walking past the venue. His ears pricked up, and he snuck in and watched the set. Next thing we knew, we were on the Bluesfest lineup (our dream bucket list festival, and one we had attended multiple times). When the festival came around, we drove the 10 hour journey, and the minute we arrived (and not a minute earlier), news broke that the festival had been cancelled due to Covid restrictions. We walked around the empty site for the rest of the evening, thinking what could have been, and then drove home the following morning. It took two more years, but we eventually graced the Bluesfest stage, and the shows will forever be amongst our favourite ever gigs. The audience, the music, and the response was simply incredible.
