Q&A Scene: Krista Polvere

Tell us about your new single?

It’s a track that I had some fun with lyrically. I was in Virginia at the time and inspired by the Southern lifestyle there. It’s also an empowering song where a woman has some fun with lust and desire challenging stereotypes and being a free spirit. She makes her own rules. She’s a temptress.

Which of your songs resonates most strongly and why?

I go through phases of which songs are my favourites. There are a number of them off the soon to be released album. My favourite is a song called ‘Devil in Me’. It’s primal and the beat is sexual. I feel strong in my life right now. That comes through in this song.

Any on the road anecdotes?

Always take the opportunity to pee when you stop! Even if you don’t feel like it then and there. The USA has gruelling traffic I almost injured myself a few times waiting for a rest room break.

Where do you draw inspiration from?

Love, other musicians, nature, poetry, peace and space, movies.
How would you describe your sound in food form and why?

Hearty, soul food. Because I am a poet first so majority of my songs are stories or poetically inclined. That creates a depth whereby the listener can dive into and Interpret the words to make it meaningful for them. This for me is good for the soul and heart. Makes you think and feel nostalgia.

What’s next for you?

Lots of shows. Releasing in the USA. Touring there. I love performing live and connecting to audiences. Being free.

What’s your scene?

My family, friends, horses, amazing food, wine, hiking, nature, health and fitness, travel, sleep, acacia bowls for breakfast, coffee, new adventures, laughter, animals, kindness, music, books, life!
