About King Colour
‘Sydney psych-groovers King Colour drop their stanky new track ‘You Just Don’t Know It Yet.’ It’s funky like some old-cheese.
The new single, engineered by The Preatures’ Jack Moffit and mixed/produced by King Colour, explores the twisted persona of a modern romantic, backed with a psychedelic r’n’b flavour and an explosive classic rock chorus, “I think you’re one of my kind”.
“This reflection is a humorous, personal confession from Ellis Wigmore… Chillax and enjoy the view from this sonic window into his minds eye” (Ellis, vocalist)
Their last single ‘Blue Horizon’ was a steaming, swirling psychedelic track, receiving some Triple J love, peaking at #6 on the AMRAP Metro charts and remaining on High Rotation on Triple J unearthed for around 5 months. Tone Deaf also recently dubbed them as one of the most promising new acts on Triple J Unearthed in April.
King Colour have established themselves as a serious live act up and down the East Coast over the past couple of years, supporting acts such as Harts,Gang of Youths, Magic Bones and Bad Valley. Along the way they’ve also curated their own multi-media event Yeah Nah Yeah in Sydney which combines a variety of visual and sonic art, and of course live music.
The band are playing a bunch of shows across the East Coast in October/November surrounding the release, including a single launch at Brighton Up Bar in Sydney on the 13th of November with support from Doctor Goddard and Shady Nasty.
‘You Just Don’t Know It Yet’ is the bands 4th single, and is the first offering from their upcoming debut EP, expected for release early 2016.
“A very special thanks to Matt O’Connor for his advice and direction during the making of this single.” (King Colour)
