It’s another example of me making things more complicated in my mind than they have to be. I’ve always been too concerned what other people think of me, and I think it’s such a funny thing that how you seem to most people isn’t really who you are.
What’s your favourite work at this point in time?
Of mine, at this point in time, I would have to say as song I have called “Unrecovered Romantic”. It will be on my album, I hope. I hadn’t written a song in year, and I consciously sat down and said to myself, “you are writing a song today”. And the result was that song. It got the cogs turning again and from then on songs started to come freely and more easily. I’m very thankful for that song. I’d be in a very different place without it.
How would you describe your sound in food form and why?
Tacos. Messy, yet classic.
Tell us a quick, on the road or studio, anecdote.
Let’s just say I’m not welcome back in Lismore…
What, or who, inspires you?
My Beautiful fiancé. She is passionate and driven in everything she does. I’m really just trying to keep up with her.
Which song do you wish you wrote?
Running Second by Ainslie Wills, but then I probably wouldn’t enjoy it as much if I’d written it.
What’s next for you?
My debut album. It’s being recorded as well speak, and I couldn’t be more excited.
What’s your scene?
Anywhere I’m surrounded by my nearest and dearest. Or watching a live band.
