Q&A Scene: MaRLo

Tell us about your new single/ album/ tour?

My new single is called Titans and will be out on 4th March. It’s actually the official anthem song for a big Australian Trance event called Atlantis which is on 11th March in Sydney and 13th March in Melbourne.

What’s your favourite work at this point in time?

Always the latest one! In this case Titans :)

Tell us a quick, on the road or studio, anecdote.
Time away from home touring can be quite challenging sometimes, you really have to learn how to operate with very little sleep, permanent jetlag and long flights… but it’s all worth it when you see the crowd smiling, dancing and having a great time.
What, or who, inspires you?

Life generally really… I make music because it’s a creative outlet for me. When I havn’t been in the studio for a while, I can feel my mood change. Once I’m in the studio I feel at home, and free to express myself musically… It’s just so much fun playing around and experimenting with sound.

Which song do you wish you wrote?

John Lennon – Imagine. It’s just such a timepiece, it’s a song of hope that I feel is as relevant today as it was when it was made. That’s pretty special.
How would you describe your sound in food form and why?

Vietnamese Pho soup – It’s a bit spicy, but with enough other flavours and texture layers to enjoy everyday.
What’s next for you?

I’m playing the biggest gig of my career this weekend! Mainstage at A State Of Trance in Holland, which will be broadcast live to over 20 million people.

What’s your scene?
