1961 Fender Stratocaster (white) (serial number 56051)
I bought this guitar while I was visiting Sydney – I was living in Perth at the time – some time in the mid 80s. I bought it simply because it was the best sounding Stratocaster I had ever heard. A couple of mates that were with me when I bought it were saying “are you mad you could buy 4 new ones for that price”. It wasn’t cheap but you never regret buying the best. It’s all over The Atlantics albums that I have played on and was used extensively on the Surfersaurus album. This is the guitar you’ll usually see me playing live.
