Mike Champion is a South African/Australian born, international singer/songwriter whose distinct sound lives at the intersection of R&B, Nu Soul, and Funk.

Lazarus was David Bowie’s final project and was first staged in New York in 2015. This is the Australian premiere of this ground-breaking musical. Featuring 18 Bowie songs, including Changes, Heroes, Life on Mars and Absolute Beginners, Lazarus is inspired by the novel The Man Who Fell to Earth by Walter Tevis.

Avantasia, the German supergroup metal opera project created by Tobias Sammet, performed in Melbourne’s Forum Theatre on Tuesday 14 May 2019, as one of only two Australian stops on the Moonglow World Tour. The band members supporting 41-year-old singer Tobias Sammet (Edguy) on stage were guitarists Sascha Paeth (Heavens Gate) and Oliver Hartmann, bassist Andre Neygenfind, drummer Felix Bohnke (Edguy), keyboardist Michael “Miro” Rodenberg, along with backing singers Adrienne Cowan and Herbie Langhans.

The composer who gave us the orchestral and choral masterpieces Axion Esti and Canto General also gave the world Romiosini. This well-loved song cycle is based on the poetry of Yannis Ritsos.

Fully endorsed by the members of ABBA, Björn Again is the brain child of John Tyrrell and has come a long way since its first show at Collingwood’s Tote Hotel and has gone on to become the most successful tribute band of all time.

Australian rock band Killing Heidi played a sold-out concert at The Croxton in Melbourne on Friday 10 May 2019. Fronted by siblings Ella Hooper on lead vocals and Jesse Hooper on guitar, Killing Heidi is rounded out by drummer Adam Pedretti, bassist Tim Curnick, and keyboardist Lena Douglas.

Baby Animals played a sold-out concert at The Croxton in Melbourne on Friday 10 May 2019, as part of their Greatest Hit Tour of Australia. Baby Animals is singer Suze DeMarchi, guitarist Dave Leslie, drummer Mick Skelton (Thirsty Merc, The Party Boys) and bassist Dario Bortolin (Jimmy Barnes, Dragon, Olivia Newton-John).

Japanese heavy metal legends Loudness played their first-ever show in Australia on Thursday 9 May 2019 at Melbourne venue Max Watt’s. After forming during 1981, Loudness became the first Japanese metal band to sign a multiple album deal with a major label, and the band has continued on to release 28 studio albums to date.

One of the most critically and commercially acclaimed artists of the last decade, Kurt Vile will release Bottle It In on October 12. The epic, loping ‘Bassackwards’ follows previously released Bottle It In single, ‘Loading Zones’, an ode to the parking challenges in Vile’s native Philadelphia, described as “Vile at his comforting, shaggy best” (The Guardian), and an “ambiguous rumination on small town life” (MOJO). ‘Bassackwards’ is the album’s beating heart and Vile’s most compelling evocation of how he sees the world: “I was on the ground circa Planet Earth, but out of sorts,” he sings over a gently psychedelic bed of backmasked guitars. “But I snapped back, baby, just in time to jot it down.”
