Nirvana delivered it to the world, but Mudhoney were the band of that time and sound.” – Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam) Seminal Seattle four-piece Mudhoney return to Australia this October to play a bunch of club shows and headline 4ZZZ FM’s “Zed 51” Festival. The grunge pioneers also add a handful of New Zealand dates for the first time in over a decade. Special guests on the Australian leg of the tour (except Ballarat & Byron Bay) are Californian trio and In The Red recording artists Primitive Ring, featuring members of Ty Segall Band, Iggy Pop’s band, Fuzz, GØGGS, Mikal Cronin and more. Since forming in 1988, Mudhoney quickly became the flagship act for legendary independent label Sub Pop and to date has released over 25 official primary releases spanning over three decades. Their provocative debut single ‘Touch Me I’m Sick’ and 1992 hit ‘Suck You Dry’ cemented them as pioneers of the late 80’s early 90’s grunge explosion, with their sound an instrumental foundation of the era. In 2023 they released their 11th studio album ‘Plastic Eternity’ showing no signs of slowing down. “Seeing Mudhoney live is a masterclass in primal, unapologetic garage-punk consistently delivering high-octane shows defined by fuzzy, sludgy guitar riffs, driving rhythms, and Mark Arm’s signature snotty, throat-shredding vocal delivery” – themusic.com.au Press Play Presents MUDHONEY TOUR 2026 FRI 16 Oct – The Thornbury Theatre, Melbourne VIC – tix SAT 17 Oct – Torquay Hotel, Torquay VIC – tix SUN 18 Oct – Theatre Royal, Castlemaine VIC – tix TUES 20 Oct – Volta, Ballarat VIC – tix WED 21 Oct – Felons Barrel Room, Manly NSW – tix THURS 22 Oct – Factory Theatre, Sydney NSW – tix FRI 23 Oct – King Street, Newcastle NSW – tix SAT 24 Oct – ZED 51, Brisbane QLD – tix SUN 25 Oct – The Northern, Byron Bay NSW – tix WED 28 Oct – Blue Smoke, Christchurch NZ – tix THURS 29 Oct – Meow, Wellington NZ – tix FRI 30 Oct – Totara St, Tauranga NZ – tix SAT 31 Oct – Harbour Hotel, Raglan NZ – tix SUN 1 Nov – Double Whammy, Auckland NZ – tix Tickets on sale Tues 30th June (9:00AM).
