Vintage Guitar Scene: 1966 Fender Super Reverb Amp

1966 Fender Super Reverb Amp – Blackface (Serial No. 18938)

I bought this amp in Perth, Western Australia in the 80s and have had an on / off relationship with it. I’ve had much more success with it in the studio than at live gigs. It has been used on many recordings and sounds great when married with a Fender Bass VI. (Can be heard on The Atlantics version of Chantilly Lace).

It’s featured on The Atlantics “Flight of the Surf Guitar” album and can be heard on the title track along with the white 1961 Fender Stratocaster.

The amp has an excellent vibrato and four great sounding 10″ speakers. It’s been a good studio workhorse.
