Snap Scene: Todd Rundgren & Davey Lane’s Drunken Blue Roosters – The Curtin, 30th October 2018

He’s the guy Prince modeled himself on. He’s the guy who has to his name production credits on some the greatest records of all time over a 50 year career such as The Band, The Psychedelic Furs, Badfinger, Cheap Trick, XTC, Hall & Oates, New York Dolls, Patti Smith, Janis Joplin. As well as a little record he took a gamble on by Meat Loaf called Bat Out Of Hell. He’s also arguably the biggest influence on the sound Kevin Parker honed for his band Tame Impala, as well as covered and sampled by the likes of Daft Punk, Hot Chip, The Avalanches.

Davey Lane (of You Am I but shared the stage with Jimmy Barnes, Crowded House, Masters Apprentices etc) led his Drunken Blue Roosters (Brett Wolfenden (drums), Tony Featherstone (keys) Luke Hodgson (bass) to bring Todd’s vision of space rock, mind-bending psychedelia, perfect power pop, lilting piano balladry to intense rock ’n roll to the stage for 4 very special shows in intimate venues across Australia.
