San Diego rock band Stone Temple Pilots performed at Under The Southern Stars festival at Hastings Foreshore Reserve along Western Port Bay on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula on Saturday 12 March 2022. STP is brothers Dean DeLeo on guitars and Robert DeLeo on bass, with drummer Eric Kretz and singer Jeff Gutt who joined late in 2017, taking over from Chester Bennington (Linkin Park) after he replaced original singer Scott Weiland.
They were one of the world’s biggest rock acts of the 1990’s, selling more than 50 million albums during the decade, and are now writing the next chapter of their storied career – their seventh studio album Stone Temple Pilots was released in 2018 as their first with their new lead singer.
