
Ross is adored and respected by Melbourne and Australia’s music loving audience and fellow musicians alike. He’s brightened many a stage in his brilliant sartorial style accompanied by his rainbow starburst painted guitar.
An ARIA hall of fame inductee as a founding member of Daddy Cool, Ross’s musical history spans 50 years. Beginning in the mid 60’s at age 16 with the Pink Finks, then Party Machine, Sons of the Vegetal Mother, Daddy Cool, Mighty Kong, Bambu, Billy T, One Foundation, Lucky Dog , Small Axe, Dianna Kiss (10 year residency at the Espy) to last year’s Critters. Back in the 90’s when Paul Kelly was asked why he lived in Melbourne, his reply was “Where else in the world can you see Ross Hannaford play for free every Monday night?’
Ross has also added his distinctive magic to many recordings and bands over the years such as Mark Gillespie, Goanna, Black Sorrows, Paul Madigan, Ian Moss, Renee Geyer and so many more.
