English minimalist electronic punk duo Sleaford Mods performed a sold-out show at The Croxton in Melbourne on Wednesday 11 March 2020, as part of their first Australian Tour.
Formed during 2007 in Nottingham, the duo has released eleven albums to date, along with numerous EPs and compilation releases – even a collaboration on The Prodigy song Ibiza. Sleaford Mods is vocalist Jason Williamson, who delivers abrasive lyrical rants of modern working class culture in his East Midlands dialect, while music producer Andrew Fearn controls the laptop during their live performances and drinks a six-pack of beer as he grooves along to the electronic backing beats.
