Magic Dirt, the seminal alternative rock band fronted by Adalita, formed in Geelong in 1991. It wasn’t long before the band were packing out pubs in Melbourne and supporting bands like Pavement, Sonic Youth, Hole and Dinosaur Jr. Their 1994 EP, Life Was Better, debuted at Number 1 on the alternative charts. This was followed by their Top 10 debut album in 1996, Friends In Danger, and then by the blistering Young And Full Of The Devil (1998).

A further 6 studio albums followed, along with 9 ARIA Award nominations. After the devastating loss of founding member and bassist Dean Turner in 2009 the band went on an indefinite hiatus but are back on the road blitzing the live music circuit in honour of their bandmate, and cementing their status as one of Australia’s best loved and highly respected bands.
