The City of Yarra is pleased to announce the third annual Leaps and Bounds Music Festival returning in 2015 taking place in Australia’s largest gigging precinct in the Melbourne’s inner city.
Over 50 participating venues in Fitzroy, Collingwood, Richmond, Abbotsford, North Carlton, Clifton Hill and North Fitzroy will collectively host more than 300 events featuring around 800 acts during the 17 day festival.
This year Leaps and Bounds will run from Friday July 3 until Sunday July 19 with the main focus on traditional venues as well as specially curated events in unique performance spaces within Yarra.
It is a local celebration highlighting local performers, local venues and local audiences – while also inviting and collaborating with artists from all over Australia. Leaps and Bounds partners with venues and performers to present ambitious and out of the ordinary events.
The Nylex clock is featured in the Paul Kelly music video for his song Leaps and Bounds from which the festival takes its name. The City of Yarra is working with site owners, Caydon, to see if the Nylex clock can be illuminated for the duration of the festival – watch this space!
The full program will be up on the Leaps and Bounds website early in June.
