
For as long as there has been “Classic Rock”, women have played a huge part in it’s development and success. In the late 60’s, artists such as Janis Joplin and Tina Turner were fronting Rocking Bands.
Throughout the 70’s and 80’s, more women became rock stars. Chrissy Hynde, Stevie Nicks, Joan Jett, Cher, Deborah Harry and The Wilson Sisters are a few who began to pave the way.
Through to the 90’s and naughties, artists such as Pink, Courtney Love, Gwen Stefani and Shirley Ann Manson continued to shape the Rock Music Scene
These women were a major influence on artists of their generation as well as a pivotal key to the success of the bands they fronted.They all excelled at singing, fronting, creating and performing music.
