Snap Scene: Mick Thomas & The Roving Commission Corner Hotel – 19th December 2020

Mick Thomas’ Roving Commission re-jigged their Melbourne shows due to venue capacity increases brought about by the easing of COVID restrictions. They decided to fold their three shows at the Corner Hotel into two – scrapping the Sunday matinee – and his two shows in one night at Memo into just the one.

The tour, which is the OVID-abbreviated version of Mick’s usual national Christmas run, follows the release of a new single,  a cover of the Cold Chisel classic “Forever  Now” re-imagined as a sort of pub rock tango, with guests Angie Hart, Tim Rogers, Emma Henney, Sophie Koh, Celia Church and Craig Pilkington, via Mick’s Bandcamp. All proceeds from the single benefit the Asylum Seekers Resource Centre. It precedes a new Mick Thomas’ Roving Commission album – their second recorded in lockdown – which will be released in the earl months of 2021.
