American-born Australian roots rock guitarist and vocalist John Butler performed solo during SummerSalt festival at The Briars in Mount Martha on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsular on Saturday 20 February 2021. The 45-year-old has previously won an ARIA Award for the country’s Best Male Artist, along with numerous ARIAs for Best Blues & Roots Album with the John Butler Trio – his roots and jam band from Fremantle, WA.
The John Butler Trio has had four albums reach number one on the Australian charts, including Sunrise Over Sea that has now attained 5x Platinum sales status in this country. Butler is an active advocate of protecting our environments, peace and global harmony, and these political and social issues are prevalent messages in his music.
