Eivør Pálsdóttir is a singer-songwriter (and actress) born and raised in Syðrugøta, Faroe Islands – a Danish archipelago territory located between Iceland, Scotland and Norway. In 1996, she had her first televised performance at the age of 13. Strongly inspired by the Faroese natural scenery and traditional culture, Eivor’s music represents her land of extremes, featuring contrasts of heavy and dark with bright and joyful sounds. Her vocals range from guttural techniques inspired by beatboxing, throat-singing, and heavy metal growling, to angelic choral styles. The eleventh solo studio album by Eivor titled Enn was released earlier this year.
