Snap Scene: Diesel, Sooki Lounge, Melbourne 21st May 2021

Australian singer-songwriter Diesel performed two shows at Sooki Lounge in Belgrave on Friday 21 May 2001, as part of his Tailored Set – Solo By Request national tour. Performing under the name Diesel, Mark Lizotte is also known as Johnny Diesel. He’s won six ARIA Music Awards with three for Best Male Artist in 1993, 1994 and 1995, after two of his albums reached #1 on the ARIA Albums Charts in 1992 and 1993.

Following the release of his top ten studio album Sunset Suburbia last year and a compilation package 30: The Greatest Hits in 2018, Diesel stripped back into solo mode and allowed the audience to choose songs online, which formulated the night’s hand-picked setlist. The selections spanned his three-decade career that commenced with his debut album in 1989, and also included a few of his favourite covers.
