Snap Scene: Cancer Bats – 170 Russell, Melbourne 9th February 2018

Canadian hardcore punk band Cancer Bats played Melbourne’s 170 Russell venue on Friday 8 February 2018 on their Australian Tour. Formed in Toronto during 2004, Cancer Bats are now Scott Middleton on guitar, Liam Cormier on lead vocals (who was celebrating his birthday this night), Mike Peters on drums, and Jaye R. Schwarzer on bass. They have released five studio albums and six EPs to date.

Fueled by a burning desire to rage harder, play louder and have more fun than any other band, Cancer Bats mix hardcore, southern metal and punk rock into a lethal rock’n’roll explosion. They have also toured and recorded as a Black Sabbath cover band, under the name of Bat Sabbath, and chose to play a Sabbath song in the night’s set.
