German power metal band Blind Guardian performed a sold-out show at Melbourne’s Northcote Theatre on Friday 9 February 2024, as part of The God Machine Tour of Australia. Formed during 1984 in Krefeld, West Germany, Blind Guardian is revered as one of the seminal and most influential bands in the power metal and speed metal sub-genres.

Blind Guardian is Hansi Kürsch on lead vocals, lead guitarist André Olbrich, rhythm guitarist Marcus Siepen, and drummer Frederik Ehmke. The world’s foremost purveyors of fantasy-fuelled power metal have returned to Australia for the first time in nine years, and their black-clad audience sang along loud and proud.
