Scene news: World Sideshow Festival

As the first ever World Sideshow Festival draws closer the Festival Producer Shep Hunty is proud to announce an addition to the already stellar line up.

David Splatt, grand finalist on Australia’s Got Talent TV program will join the team for all 3 days.

“We all know only a singer will ever win Australia’s Got Talent so for a non musical/ variety/sideshow act to make it through to the grand final it must be extremely popular, not only with the judges but with the general public as well.” Shep Huntly said.

Splatt will be providing the preshow and interval entertainment in the bar. If you don’t know what show to see or are just curious about the WSF pop into the BMI, have a drink at the bar and enjoy the antics of David Splatt.

Splatt is reminiscent of the glory days of Chaplin and Keaton. Classy, funny, quirky and endearing, you can’t help but love this lost little clown.

Like all the ensemble of artists in the World Sideshow Festival Splatt has years of international experience. He is the only Australian artist to have ever been invited to the International Mime and Physical Theatre Festival of the Caribbean.

Shep Huntly, first saw Splatt performing in London. “I knew the first time I saw him he was something special and l am overjoyed he has agreed to come to Ballarat and be part of the WSF”.

Shep encourages locals to buy tickets now, “It seems a lot of people from Melbourne and beyond are snapping up tickets” he said “ but I really want Ballarat people to be part of this.” His message to Ballarat residents is clear “It’s happening in your backyard, nothing like this has happened anywhere in the world before, don’t miss out.”

If audiences are unsure of what to see Mr Huntly suggests buying a ticket to the Opening night Cabaret, where each of the artist will present some of their favourite snippets from their shows.

He said “The 5 show festival pass is the best value for money at $120 but if you are uncertain, take a gamble on the Opening Cabaret, I guarantee you will not be disappointed.”

All the performances of The World Sideshow Festival have been carefully hand selected because they are responsible for the rebirth of New Sideshow and an element of surprise, fun, shock and awe is guaranteed at this must-see event to be held in the picturesque township of Ballarat from 21st to the 23rd of May at the historically significant building of The Mechanics Insitute at 117 Sturt Street.

A very limited allocation of tickets are available via which punters are encouraged to snap up quickly to avoid disappointment.
